The only sure things in life: death, taxes and the Jensen, Jensen, Reagan, Robinson team winning the Keuka College Golf Classic.
Roger Jensen, Scott Jensen, Kyle Reagan, and Josh Robinson won the 10th annual renewal of the tourney for the third straight year, firing a 56 in the scramble event July 20 at Lakeside Country Club in Penn Yan. The Jensens and Reagan were members of the winning team in 2006.
The foursome of Ann Tuttle, Kyle Tuttle, Mike Minichiello, and Tom Minichiello returned a 65 to win the mixed team title while Dana Schillinger, Ed Perry, Alan Beardsley, and Rich Rochford shot a 63 to win the senior division.
Tom Mulvehill and Jenn Sweet won the longest drive competitions while Lois Austen, Ellen Tones, Kyle Tuttle, and Mulvehill won closest-to-the-pin prizes.
Special awards were presented to Sue Winslow, the only Keuka College alumna (Class of 1963) to play in all 10 tournaments, and Cass Crovetti, a member of the tournament committee since its inception and lead organizer. Crovetti recently retired from Keuka College as associate director for community programs and regional events.
Jeannine Clarke, Sherry Hulbert, Judy Ryder, and Corry Stork were honored for fielding the only all-women’s team.
The tournament benefits the Deb Manahan Golf Classic Scholarship, which carries the name of the late Penn Yan resident, avid golfer and Keuka College benefactor. In its first nine years, the tournament raised some $110,000 for the scholarship, awarded annually to Keuka students from the Finger Lakes region.
