Kathleen Howard, an instructor in the Accelerated Studies for Adults Program (ASAP), recently received a CNY BEST Annual Workplace Learning and Performance Award in the individual trainer category.
The award ceremony was held in Syracuse.
A distinguished panel of judges from the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD) and Central New York higher education, industrial, and not-for-profit sectors praised Howard’s work as Onondaga County Government’s training coordinator. They said her efforts to increase training participation “showed far reaching impact, professionalism, and attention to participants’ needs and application of learning and continuous self-development.”
Contest judges also noted that comments from Howard’s students demonstrated a deep concern for the learners, their circumstances, and personal styles of learning.
